What to Look for at a Launch Site
Before flying at any launch site, check these key factors:
- Airspace class: Is the site in or near controlled airspace (Class B, C, D, or E surface area)?
- TFRs: Are there any active Temporary Flight Restrictions in the area?
- Nearby airports: How close is the nearest airport or heliport?
- Wind & weather: Are current conditions within safe flying limits?
- Permissions: Do you have permission to launch from the property?
- Obstacles: Are there trees, power lines, buildings, or people nearby?
